WALLACE, Idaho – Calling all skiers, snowboarders, and adrenaline junkies! The 6th annual Extreme SkiJor event is set to take over historic downtown Wallace from Feb. 16-18.
This extreme ski competition involves pulling skiers and snowboarders behind a 4-wheeler, hitting speeds close to 30mph, executing jumps, and performing tricks in a fierce competition. The weekend will be filled with events leading up to the announcement of a winner on Sunday afternoon.
The event will unfold in downtown Wallace, right in the middle of their historic street in the downtown district. Adding to the excitement, this year’s theme for the skiers is 80’s rock costumes.
Siobhan Curet, with Ski Wallace, shares that the event really kicks off in November when the mountain snow starts to fall.
“The city stockpiles snow for us depending on what the snow year is looking like, and then we’ll have it ready for when the event rolls around” says Curet.
Not only will there be some awesome ski tricks, but Wallace also offers amazing food and lodging that are prepared for the crowds. Live entertainment is scheduled for Friday evening, along with family activities and games throughout the weekend.
