IM-1 mission’s Nova-C lander takes selfies with Earth

A new moon lander has captured some amazing views of our home planet from space. The robotic Odysseus spacecraft for the IM-1 mission also known as the Nova-C lander, built by Intuitive Machines, took some selfies with Earth in the background shortly after its launch on February 15. The lander is on its way to the moon as part of a private lunar mission contracted by NASA.

On February 16, Intuitive Machines shared the first images from Odysseus, taken shortly after the lander separated from the second stage of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket that launched it. The new images show the lander’s solar panels and antennas, with the blue and white Earth in the background.
