Griffins, Admirals make AHL history with point-streak matchup
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Griffins and Admirals made history at Van Andel Arena.
Sunday night’s game was a first in the American Hockey League. It was the first time in AHL history two teams faced each other while on point-streaks of 14 games or more. The Griffins started the day with a 14-game point streak, while the Milwaukee Admirals were on a 19-game win streak.
However, the Griffins’ streak is the only to last. Grand Rapids beat Milwaukee 4-2 to extend the point-streak to 15 games.
The Griffins can make it 16-straight games when they host the Iowa Wild on Wednesday.
