Celebrate pop culture at this year’s Emerald City Comic Con

SEATTLE — Don’t be surprised if you see Spider-Man or Captain Marvel walking around downtown Seattle this weekend.

Tens of thousands of people – many of them in costume – will descend upon Emerald City Comic Con at the Seattle Convention Center. The event is a four day celebration of pop culture where creators and fans can interact.

“Pop culture is culture now,” said event manager Chris D’Lando. “We like to say everyone is a fan of something and we’re very sure there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.”

This year will feature hundreds of exhibitors, artists and comic creators. There will also be celebrity meet-and-greets, panels, comedy shows, music and after parties.

“Comic conventions are a place for people to come together completely free of judgment and celebrate their fandoms and celebrate with like minded individuals and just share share in that community,” D’Lando said.
