Deadline for Chisinau International Airport travel retail and food & beverage tender nears : Moodie Davitt Report
MOLDOVA. Bids close on 25 March for an open tender to secure an operator of airside and landside food & beverage and retail services at Chisinau International Airport.
As reported, the contract duration is three years. However, this may be extended if the parties agree accordingly (by signing an additional annex), provided all contractual obligations are met by the tenant.
The winner will be announced on 29 March. For full contract details click here.
The starting monthly rent for the ten premises is €154,615.90, VAT excluded, based on annual traffic of 2.8 million passengers.
With every 100,000 increase of passenger traffic, the rent will increase +2% annually. In the case of any passenger decrease the rent payment will remain unchanged.
Passenger traffic at the Moldovan gateway (see tables) peaked at just under 3 million in 2019 (up +35% over 2015) before being hit hard by the pandemic.
Despite the crisis in Ukraine, passenger numbers have been steadily recovering, reaching 77.3% of pre-crisis levels in 2022 and 94.6% in 2023.
The state-owned airport company projects passenger traffic to rise to 4.5 million by 2027.
Chisinau International Airport said its expectations of the winning bidder include:
- Improvement of the overall traveller experience;
- The creation and operation of units attractive from a commercial point of view;
- Enhancing the offer and combining local heritage with the international offer to satisfy the growing needs of travellers transiting Chisinau International Airport;
- Increasing the share of non-aeronautical revenues.
Applications should submitted to the Chancery office of S.E. „Chisinau International Airport”, Chisinau, MD 2026, bd. Dacia 80/3, Office 210. d.
