“Emirates..Events and History”: Death of Sheikh Rashid

Sharjah24: The programme “The Emirates: Events and History,” presented by “Sharjah 24,” analyses historical events and occurrences that occurred in the UAE throughout the holy month of Ramadan in eight episodes, with two episodes aired weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During the fourth episode, the death of Sheikh Rashid bin Maktoum, who ruled from 1886 to 1894, is presented.

Fahd Al Maamari, heritage researcher and Chairman of the Emirates Library and Information Association  stated that Sheikh Rashid had several children: Mana’a , Suhail, Saeed, Hashr Maktoum, and Batti. After him, Sheikh Maktoum Al Maktoum took over the rule of Dubai.
