The right to health and the Health for All Film Festival at Balexert, Geneva, Switzerland

The screening will take place on Friday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Pathé Balexert (duration 1h30). There will be 2x 25′ screenings for a total of 8 short films and 2 15-20 minute discussions. There will be, for example, films on the reception of migrants at Geneva Hospital, urban health management with neighborhood groups in the commune of Vernier and other Swiss towns, access to HIV treatment for transgender people during the COVID pandemic, and many other poignant and inspiring stories.

The themes of the discussions will relate to the right to health, which is the theme of the campaign launched on April 7 by the WHO for World Health Day. These discussions will therefore touch on the subjects of the WHO Film Festival’s special awards: the specific themes of social issues, in particular for migrants or gender equity and access to care for the most vulnerable.

Students of health and social issues were invited to take part in discussion sessions with Geneva healthcare staff and WHO experts. Users of the Balexert shopping center and all residents of Geneva and the surrounding area are of course welcome to attend this free, interactive screening!
