Virginia residents opening gardens to tours for charity during ‘Historic Garden Week’

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A group of residents of Richmond’s Windsor Farms neighborhood are opening their gardens to public tours for a good cause.

The owners of ten private gardens in the Windsor Farms neighborhood are opening their properties to tours for “Historic Garden Week” to raise money to restore and preserve public gardens across Virginia.


Historic Garden Week is organized by the Garden Club of Virginia and goes from Saturday, April 20 to Saturday, April 27.

The Windsor Farms tours go from Tuesday, April 23 to Thursday, April 25. Tickets can be bought online for $50 or in person for $60. More information about the event can be found here.

Historic Garden Week has funded the restoration and preservation of nearly 50 historic public gardens across the Commonwealth. The event also funds a research fellowship program which is building a comprehensive library of historic gardens in Virginia.
