The Gardens Mall secure after reports of shots fired, police say

Palm Beach Gardens Police are investigating reports of gunshots fired at The Gardens Mall Wednesday. As of Wednesday evening, the city of Palm Beach Gardens said the mall was secured, but closed for business for the rest of the evening. A city of Palm Beach Gardens spokesperson added Wednesday night that the incident was not an active shooter event, but appears not to be a random act.WPBF has multiple crews on the scene.Several witnesses have told WPBF that they heard multiple gunshots while shopping on the premises and took shelter in nearby stores. A lockdown at Palm Beach State College’s campus in Palm Beach Gardens has expired.Palm Beach Gardens Community High School, Watson B. Duncan Middle School, Dwight D. Eisenhower K-8 School, and Timber Trace Elementary School were on lockdown but have have returned to normal activities as of Wednesday evening.”We appreciate the rapid law enforcement and fire response from our local public safety partners,” a city of Palm Beach Gardens spokesperson said.The Gardens Mall is located in South Florida’s Palm Beach Gardens, with more than 160 shops and restaurants.
