Free disc golf, swimming, skating events for Family Day

Start Family Day off right tomorrow in Campbell River with a pancake breakfast at the Sportsplex, where there will be free activities all day.

Starting at 9 am, the Kinsmen Club will be flipping flapjacks for an $8 donation, it’s $4 for youth and free for kids under 5.

Afterwards, the Sportsplex will have the play gym open for young ones, racquetball courts and the weight room will also be open inside.

Outside, the disc golf course will be available to use free all morning.

Events run until 1 pm.

Afterwards, families can head up to Strathcona Gardens, where there will be free swimming, skating, and pick-up hockey all afternoon from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.

Skating and swimming is free thanks a donation from Mary and Jens Rolinski, who operate the local McDonalds restaurants.
