Chicago Bears hire Senior VP of Strategy and Global Affairs

CHICAGO — The Chicago Bears announced the hiring of a newly created position within their front office Friday — Senior vice president of strategy and global affairs — and the new hire comes to the city after spending 15 years with the Minnesota Vikings.

According to a press release from the team, Tanya Dreesen was hired to the position of senior vice president of strategy and global affairs & chief of staff, where she will work to “direct and impact the strategic direction of the organization” through navigating global landscapes, while also creating organizational efficiencies in the day-to-day operations of the franchise and within the stadium development project.

In 15 years with the Vikings, Dreesen most recently served in the role of vice president of partnership activation, events and special projects, where she spearheaded numerous initiatives that included team and U.S. Bank Stadium presentations, community relations and sponsor activations.

Other major projects Dreesen has worked on include the NFL’s International Series Games in London, Minnesota’s successful Super Bowl LII bid, and the design and construction of the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center.

“The legacy of the Chicago Bears and their devoted fanbase are the heartbeat of Chicagoland,” Dreesen said in the press release. “I’m excited to Bear Down and be a part of this determined and competitive leadership team, led by Kevin Warren, to amplify and advance the Bears vision within the organization, while building the next generation a world-class stadium for fans, the community and the franchise.”
