This weekend promises to be a sweet experience for the whole family! Here are our top picks:


Maple Sugar Time Schlitz Audubon Nature Center Milwaukee Wisconsin

Maple Sugar Days at Wehr Nature Center

Admission: $12; Members $10; Children 2 and Under FREE; $5 parking for non-members (pre-registration required)
Take a short walk to the sugarbush, a visit to an old-time sugarin’ camp, watch a boil down demonstration and hear stories about the Native American origins of maple sugaring. Everyone will receive a warm pancake with real Wisconsin maple syrup. Other maple treats, along with DIY tapping equipment will be on-sale in the Friends of Wehr Nature Store.

Learn how maple sap turns into syrup, identify a maple tree, and practice tapping a log with a hand drill. There will be five activities to participate in along the trails. Before you leave, visit the sweetest station of all for a delicious treat!

See the syrup making process up close. Experience pioneer life by helping render lard, watching a ‘smith’ at work, shelling some corn and more. Enjoy maple cotton candy and a pancake breakfast. New this year: Maple Syrup Contest! Samples of syrup from maple syrup producers will be entered and rated for density, clarity, flavor, color and container.

Girls & STEM Discovery World Milwaukee Wisconsin

BAYSHORE Bunny Hop Festival

Saturday, March 23, Noon-2 p.m.
Admission: FREE
Let Kid Boogie Down get you hopping to the beat while you strike a pose with the Easter Bunny and festive characters from Fairytale Birthday Company. There will also be balloon twisters, face painters, a photo booth and giveaways.

Board a historic train and take a ride down to the Elegant Farmer, where everyone will have the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny and pose for pictures! Participate in a scavenger hunt out your windows. On the return trip, all child and toddler ticket holders will receive an Easter Gift! There will also be Face Painting in the depot.

Hops & Soda Pops at Sprecher Brewery

Admission: Adults $12; Minors $5
Have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny, and then while on a brewery tour, your photo will be put on Sprecher Root Beer bottles! There will also be games, activities, arts and crafts, and more. Also included: a commemorative glass, beer samples (age 21+), and unlimited soda samples.

Head to the Historical Center downtown for a fun-filled day with the whole family!
