Kutztown Folk Festival voted as one of the best cultural festivals
Kutztown Folk Festival of Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the oldest continuously operated folklife festival in the country, was voted by USA TODAY readers as one of the best cultural festivals in the U.S. Readers ranked the festival No. 3 in the country.
The festival, a celebration of Pennsylvania Dutch culture and heritage that draws in visitors from around the globe, was voted as the third-best festival in America for 2024.
The event includes the largest quilt sale in the United States, over 200 craftsmen and folk artists, local food and family friendly entertainment.
The Kutztown Folk Festival first began in the summer of 1950, allowing outsiders to experience firsthand what it meant to be part of the Pennsylvania Dutch family. That initial event, a four-day affair set during the Fourth of July weekend, drew nearly 25,000 to Kutztown.
The festival quickly grew to a nine-day event drawing over 130,000 attendees.
This year, The Kutztown Folk Festival is held from Saturday, June 29 until Sunday, July 7.
