JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (April 5-7) around Mississippi.

Central Mississippi:

Sunset Concert Series – Vicksburg – Friday


  • The concert features the B.A.R. Band with Andrew “Six Strong” Soulman at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

Food Truck Friday – Jackson – Friday

  • This will be a multi-vendor event that will allow the food truck community to come together and provide good food and a great customer experience for the businesses and employees in the Greater Downtown Area.

Dinner & a Movie: Barbie Movie – Clinton – Friday

  • Enjoy Ladies Night Out with Barbie! Get dressed up in your favorite Barbie-inspired outfit and enjoy a fun night on the brick streets of Clinton.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Brewzle Distillery Takeover – Jackson – Friday

  • Attendees can enjoy a full bar, delectable food by Pig & Pint, and both indoor and outdoor seating for those not participating in the bourbon tasting.

Last of the Red Hot Lovers – Natchez – Friday

  • Heat up your evenings with “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” at Natchez Little Theatre! This hilarious comedy takes you on a journey through the complexities of love, passion, and midlife adventures.

A Big Muddy Tribute to Elton John – Natchez – Friday

  • Amy has spent more time seeking inspiration from Sir Elton John than any other artist. She will cover his bits from his over 50-year music career.

Wine ‘n’ Cheese & Bach “If You Please” – Natchez – Friday

  • Tour Victorian Myrtle Terrace while sipping wine and nibbling on exquisite cheeses while Geoff entertains you with his favorite classical piano artists.

Honor Choir Festival Concert – Jackson – Friday and Saturday

  • The 3rd Annual SATB Male Honor Choir Festival hosted by Mississippi Boychoir. The festival will be held at Millsaps College with a joint Finale Concert with Treblesong at Belhaven University Center for the Arts Concert Hall.

Junkin’ on the River – Natchez – Friday and Saturday

  • Multiple stories across the Natchez-Vidalia area will take part in the event. Enjoy 15 miles of sales, food trucks and fun!

Spring Pilgrimage – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The Historic Homes of Natchez will host tours until April 28, 2024.

Attack of the Bloodsuckers – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Through 13 icky exhibits, guests learn the what, why, who, and when of how parasites live, work, and play an important part in our ecosystems.

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

17th Annual Township Jazz Festival – Ridgeland – Saturday

  • A full spectrum of jazz artists from national recording artists to local up-and-coming professionals and students held on the concert green at Township at Colony Park.

Cathead Crawfish Boil – Jackson – Saturday

  • There will be live music, crawfish, cocktails and beer.

Celebrating 10 Years of Natchez Brewing Company – Natchez – Saturday

  • There will be live music and birthday cake!

Miss Mississippi Pickleball Tournament – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • This is the first Pickleball Tournament hosted by the Vicksburg Pickleball Association to benefit the contestants of the Miss Mississippi Corporation.

“Thank You Please Come Again” Exhibit – Jackson – Saturday and Sunday

  • Thank You Please Come Again features twenty-two photographs that document photojournalist Kate Medley’s ten-year journey through the heart of the American South.

“The Odd Couple” – Natchez – Saturday and Sunday

  • Oddities unite! Join the Natchez Little Theatre for “The Odd Couple” – a classic tale of mismatched roommates that has captivated audiences for generations.

2024 Spring Four Ball Golf Tournament – Natchez – Saturday and Sunday

  • Beau Pre’ Country Club in Natchez Mississippi will be hosting their annual Spring Pilgrimage Four Ball Golf Tournament.

Beauty and the Beatz Competition – Jackson – Sunday

  • Get ready to witness a thrilling competition where three talented makeup artists will battle it out for an incredible opportunity!

Hattiesburg GeoTour Anniversary – Hattiesburg – Saturday

  • This first-of-its-kind geocaching celebration will coincide with the First Saturday in Downtown Hattiesburg and celebrate the spirit of the great outdoors and discovery. All registered geocaching users will be invited to complete a shortened version of the Hattiesburg GeoTour with 10 caches scattered around Downtown for a prize. 

Make-A-Wish Come True Oyster Cook-off – Hattiesburg – Saturday
