Midland Classical senior and Abilene Christian University signee Bethany Tate swept both girls throwing events at the TAPPS 1-4A District Track and Field Meet, Thursday in Fort Worth.

Tate won the discus with a toss of 145 feet, 11 inches and the shot put with a throw of 40-3.50.

MCA junior Addie Dunn cleared 5 feet, 0 inches, to win the girls high jump, while Knights senior Rhett Snider won the boys pole vault with a height of 10-0.

The top four finishers in each event qualified for the TAPPS 4A North Regional meet, April 25 at Maverick Stadium in Arlington.

Trinity junior Miguel Monteiro Pereira won the boys 100-meter dash (11.32) in the TAPPS 1-3A district meet held at the same site on the same day.

Trinity’s 800 relay team of Jude Varner, Stacy Jones, Ezekiel Bajomo and Pereira finished first (1:34.65).

The Lady Chargers’ 400 relay team also claimed gold (53.95).

The top four finishers in each event advanced to the TAPPS 3A North Regional meet, April 26 at Maverick Stadium.
