Drive-by ashes on

Feb. 14 at church

The community is invited to receive ashes without getting out of their vehicles from Pastor Roy Robbins of Christ Lutheran Church from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14 for Ash Wednesday. The pastor will set up a booth in front of the church and wait for community members to arrive at 5500 Francis Ave. in Chino.

Prayer is also available. He said he hopes to eclipse his record from 2023 when 78 souls received ashes with a great start to their Lenten season.

Calvary Chapel

Chino Valley

Pastor David Rosales will preach on Acts 18 at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday services at Chino Valley Calvary Chapel, 12205 N. Pipeline Ave., with a replay online at 2 p.m.

Spanish-speaking service “Fuente de Vida” begins at 10:45 a.m. in the chapel.

The 5 p.m. Sunday online service is on the Book of Revelation.

Wednesday mid-week service is at 7 p.m. with a verse-by-verse teaching in the Book of Ecclesiastes by Pastor Rosales.

Men’s Bible study at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday will be held in the banquet hall followed by breakfast.

The theme for 2024 is “For His Glory” with Pastor Brian Pattison preaching on 1 Corinthians 3 at the 8:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday services. The evening service has been changed to 2 p.m. and is on Acts 21. This week continues the series “Isn’t She Lovely?” looking at the church as the Bride of Christ and exploring the difference between the good things churches can do versus the missional things they must do. Sunday services are at 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Steve Allred will speak on “The Uncommon Christian” at the 3 p.m. service today (Feb. 10) at Chino Valley Chinese Church, 4136 Riverside Drive in Chino. The service will be streamed online.

To celebrate Year of the Dragon, a dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. followed by a Lunar Near Year program.
