Kingsport Arts Festival kicks off on April 19 with parade | WJHL

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL)—Kingsport Cultural Arts announced that its two-day, family-friendly arts festival will kick off on April 19.

The Kingsport Arts Festival will feature the Tri-Cities’ best artists, musicians, performers and dancers.

The festival will launch with a “Light up the Night” parade, which will include giant puppets, lanterns and projection work, the release said. The festival’s second day will offer glass blowing, Raku firing, tie-dye making and an iron pour.

The second day will also debut this year’s Sculpture Walk.

The hours for the festival, provided by the release, are as follows:

  • April 19: 6 – 10 p.m.
  • April 20: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Kingsport Cultural Arts is welcoming all digital artists, musicians, performers and dancers to apply for a role online at ArtsKingsport.org.

The digital artists will project artwork onto the buildings in downtown Kingsport on April 19, the release said. Submissions for this role are due March 15.
