This March 15 and 16, enjoy all the excitement of the Olympic Rowing qualifier live from Rio de Janeiro Brazil through the Pan American Sports Channel. The best rowers in the region will look for their long-awaited ticket to Paris 2024.

With only 133 days until the Paris Olympic Games begin, here in South America the Pan American Qualifying Regatta will begin for the ring event next July. This will be the penultimate instance to achieve the long-awaited tickets to France, since in May the Final Olympic Qualifier will take place in Lucerne, Switzerland.

In total there will be 75 athletes from 58 teams who will compete in Brazil in search of the 14 Olympic places. It should be noted that this regatta will distribute five quotas per gender for the single scull modality and another two quotas per gender for the lightweight double scull.

In men, there will be 19 crews that will participate in this event, highlighting among other great stars of continental canoeing, the champion of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, the Brazilian Lucas Verthein, along with him, the Uruguayan Bruno Cetrato who obtained 6th place in Tokyo.

In the men’s lightweight doubles, the participation of Cesar Abaroa and Eber Sanhueza from Chile, who won the silver medal in Santiago 2023, is expected. The bronze medalists, Argentines Pedro Kirk and Alejandro Colomino, will also be in the game.

In Ladies, the participation of the “Chilean Navy” and the great winners of Santiago 2023 is expected. Isidora Niemeyer, who will partner with Josefa Vila, confirmed her presence.

For Argentina in women, the bronze medalists from the event in Santiago last year Sonia Baluzzo and Evelyn Silvestro will participate.

And from Mexico, the outstanding athlete Kenia Lechuga, Pan American champion in Santiago 2023 and who also won the silver medal in the World Rowing Championships, will compete.

The most important thing for lovers of Rowing and sports in general, this attractive competition will be broadcast live, through the Panam Sports Channel with the stories of Soledad Bacarreza and the former Team Chile rower Bernardo Guerrero.
