Sci-Tech shooting: One suspect facing additional charge

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The suspect who was arrested following a shooting inside the Springfield High School of Science and Technology (Sci-Tech) will now be facing an additional charge following further investigation.

Springfield police reviewed more video of the incident that took place on March 11 and have come to the decision to also charge 22-year-old Josiah Livingston with armed breaking and entering during the daytime for a felony putting a person in fear.

Livingston was arrested inside the school after the incident occurred and at the time only charged with assault and battery. He was held on a $25,000 bail and has been held at the Hampden County Correctional Center in Ludlow. He is due back in court on April 12th.

An investigation revealed that Livingston along with Dana Dudley, Chantz Dudley and a juvenile female student, attempted to enter the school after being asked to leave by a teacher. They entered after a door was opened and began an altercation in the hallway, with one of the suspects brandishing a firearm. During the incident the firearm was shot, hitting a nearby window.

Livingston was arrested inside the school but Dana, Chantz and the juvenile left in a vehicle. Last week, Dana was arrested and charged with carrying a deadly weapon on school grounds and armed breaking and entering during the daytime for a felony putting a person in fear.

Twenty-year-old Chantz Dudley of Chicopee, who is the son of Dana, remains at large and is wanted in connection with the same incident. According to Springfield Police, Chantz Dudley allegedly used the firearm to strike the victim in the head and then fired one shot through the window.
